Command Apparatus

The City of Pittsburgh is seeking a proposal for a four-door SUV apparatus to be used by Command personnel. The apparatus should be designed to survive the rigorous service, terrain, and use cycles of the Bureau of Fire. The proposal should include a detailed description of the apparatus, construction and performance details, and a list of equipment to be supplied. The manufacturer should have an established reputation in the field of fire apparatus upfit and have been in continuous business for a minimum of ten years. The proposal should also include a statement clearly identifying all features and components that will not be fully compliant with the most current edition of NFPA 1900. Some key requirements include: • The apparatus should be a four-door SUV with a minimum of a 12-volt and 110-volt electrical system • The apparatus should be designed to meet the requirements of NFPA 1900 • The manufacturer should provide a written load analysis and the results of the electrical system performance test • The apparatus should have a permanent label stating the maximum number of personnel that can ride in the apparatus • The manufacturer should provide a list of a minimum of five similar apparatus constructed and a list of a minimum of five apparatus that have been constructed over five years The City of Pittsburgh reserves the right to request clarification of any proposal and to request samples of any or all items upon which the proposal is based.
