Transformer Repair-Remanufacture

The City of Independence is soliciting bids for a qualified firm to furnish all materials, equipment, tools, labor, transportation, and supervision for repairing electrical transformers and, if necessary, scraping electrical transformers and equipment. The contractor will be responsible for performing initial tests on transformers identified by the City as candidates for repair. The contractor will also be responsible for purchasing for scrap, transformers that are identified by the City as non-repairable or are determined by the contractor to be non-repairable. The contractor will provide a price schedule for disposal of non-PCB electrical equipment. • The contractor must have 5 years of experience providing the services specified. • The contractor must accept the City's terms and conditions without exceptions. • The contractor must provide a warranty on transformer repair work, including how restitution will be made to the City if the transformer fails and the warranty provisions are exercised. • The contractor must provide bid prices for repair/reconditioning of single-phase and three-phase transformers. • The contractor must provide bid prices for mineral oil and parts used in repair, reconditioning, or rewinding of pole and pad-mount transformers. • The contractor must provide bid prices for disposal or recycling of non-PCB electrical equipment. • The contractor must provide bid prices for disposal of PCB contaminated electrical equipment by incineration or chemical waste landfill.
