Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide HLA transplant testing services for the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. The contractor will be responsible for providing reference lab testing services, including histocompatibility testing, to support the transplant service performed by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The testing services will include HLA typing, antibody testing, and crossmatching. The contractor must be able to provide testing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, and must be located within a 50-mile radius of the TVHS campus. The contractor will be paid on a monthly basis for services provided and accepted. The contract will be for a period of 6 years, with options to extend.
Some of the key services that the contractor will be responsible for include:
* Providing reference lab testing services, including histocompatibility testing
* Performing HLA typing, antibody testing, and crossmatching
* Providing testing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year
* Being located within a 50-mile radius of the TVHS campus
* Providing at-home testing kits with prepaid mailers for panel reactive antibodies
* Having a medical director available during routine business hours for complex clinical discussions
* Having a reliable communication workflow, including response times, escalation processes, and means by which TVHS can reach laboratory staff at any time.
