Description
The Jefferson County Department of Public Works is seeking a qualified consulting firm (or consortium) to develop a comprehensive County Road Safety Plan for all county‑owned roadways (approximately 700 miles). The scope includes data collection, crash‑history analysis (2021‑2025), roadway evaluation, identification of low‑cost and high‑cost safety countermeasures, cost estimating, and a public engagement process (meetings, surveys, stakeholder interviews). The consultant must prepare the final plan, assist with presentation to the County Council, and support adoption before December 31 2027. • Professional engineering and transportation planning services • Crash data analysis, roadway classification, traffic volume, socio‑economic factors • Development of priority/secondary road segments (≈50‑100) • Cost‑estimate (ROM) for recommended improvements • Public outreach (workshops, online surveys, stakeholder interviews) • Final report and assistance with Council adoption • Deliverables due by Dec 31 2027; LOI due Oct 2 2026 (5 copies, ≤10 pages)
