Request for Proposal: Fire Station 22 Fiber Optic Infrastructure Extension

The Village of Hoffman Estates is seeking a qualified contractor to extend fiber‑optic infrastructure from the existing Fire Station 22 to its future location. The scope includes engineering design, permitting, directional boring or trenching, conduit installation, placement of handholes/pull‑boxes, installation of a 6‑strand armored single‑mode fiber cable, fusion splicing, bi‑directional OTDR testing, and delivery of as‑built GIS/CAD documentation. The contract will be awarded after a formal evaluation of technical qualifications, experience, references, and cost, with a submission deadline of July 24, 2026. • Design, permit, and construct ~400 m of outside‑plant fiber‑optic pathway (minimum 36 in. burial depth). • Install HDPE/PVC conduit, handholes, pull‑boxes, and 6‑strand OS2 armored fiber; perform fusion splicing and OTDR/OLTS testing at 1310 nm & 1550 nm. • Provide comprehensive as‑built maps, labeling, and documentation per municipal standards; maintain insurance and liability coverage as specified.
