Description
The RTO Device and Reliability Project is a two‑year, $2.85 M fixed‑price contract awarded by the City and County of Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure to upgrade and harden the communication network supporting ITS devices across Denver’s 12 fiber hubs and priority corridors. The work encompasses extensive civil demolition, fiber‑optic cable and conduit installation, electrical and networking hardware deployment, traffic‑control services, and environmental mitigation.
• Scope includes removal of existing fiber hubs, radio antennas, sidewalks, curb ramps, and pull boxes; installation of new fiber‑optic cables (72‑ and 96‑strand), splice enclosures, Ethernet switches, UPS units, and conduit (both bored and plastic).
• Civil works cover concrete sidewalk and curb‑ramp construction, hot‑mix asphalt patching, aggregate base course, erosion control structures, sediment removal, and landscaping/soil‑retention measures.
• Additional services: traffic‑control staffing and equipment, construction surveying, wildlife biologist consulting, and fixed‑price contract‑administration items.
The contract requires compliance with a 12 % DBE goal, a pre‑qualification at the $3 M telecommunications level, and adherence to Denver’s prevailing‑wage and minimum‑wage statutes.
