RFP -2026 Cortez Airport Asbestos Abatement Project

The City of Cortez is seeking a contractor to perform abatement of asbestos-containing materials at the Cortez Airport. The scope of work includes asbestos abatement removal, post-abatement clearance sampling, mobilization, and proposed schedule of all activities. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal requirements, including the Davis-Bacon Act and EPA regulations. The project is funded by a United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownfield Cleanup Grant. Key aspects of the project include: • Abatement of asbestos-containing materials in the fixed based-base operations building, terminal building, and original auxiliary building • Post-abatement clearance sampling • Mobilization and scheduling of all activities • Compliance with federal regulations, including the Davis-Bacon Act and EPA regulations • Active SAM.gov registration in good standing • Provision of signage as required by government agencies
