Description

The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to determine the interest and capability of contractors for an upcoming project at Ulysses S. Grant NHS in St. Louis, MO. The project involves detecting a leak within the geothermal heating and cooling system. The leak volume is approximately 40 gallons per day and is currently isolated to one of the five system laterals. The leak detection shall be non-invasive, and the recommended method is helium leak detection. • The project requires a non-invasive leak detection method. • The leak is currently isolated to one of the five system laterals. • The lateral length is approximately 80 yards. • All laterals, vertical bore heads, and interfaces between each are located no less than 5 ft below ground surface. • Individual bores cannot be isolated.

Budget estimate

$10,000 – $50,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work, which involves detecting a leak within the geothermal heating and cooling system. The cost of such a project can vary depending on the method used, the size of the system, and the location. However, considering the non-invasive method recommended and the relatively small size of the system, the budget could be in the range of $10,000 to $50,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require specialized equipment and personnel with expertise in geothermal system leak detection.
