The County of Butte is seeking a firm to operate a Mixed Organic Processing Facility (MOPF) to process mixed organic waste, including food and green waste, generated within the county. The selected firm will be responsible for designing, constructing, and operating the MOPF, as well as providing training and written procedures for personnel. The facility will be located on a 118.56-acre parcel north and east of the Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility (NRRWF). The County is looking for a firm that can provide a comprehensive solution for mixed organic waste processing, including the ability to export mixed organics to another facility permitted to process organics. The selected firm will be required to achieve a 95% diversion rate of mixed organic waste material received at the facility. Key responsibilities include: • Designing and constructing the MOPF • Operating the facility in a manner that minimizes environmental impacts • Providing training and written procedures for personnel • Achieving a 95% diversion rate of mixed organic waste material • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations • Providing a comprehensive solution for mixed organic waste processing Some of the key features and requirements of the project include: • The facility will be designed to handle 7,665 tons of green waste per year • The facility will be located on a 118.56-acre parcel north and east of the NRRWF • The selected firm will be responsible for designing, constructing, and operating the MOPF • The facility will be required to achieve a 95% diversion rate of mixed organic waste material • The selected firm will be required to comply with all applicable laws and regulations The County is looking for a firm with experience in operating mixed organic processing facilities, as well as a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and environmental impacts associated with this type of facility. The selected firm will be required to provide a comprehensive solution for mixed organic waste processing, including the ability to export mixed organics to another facility permitted to process organics.
