Prospectus for Campground and Related Granger-Thye Concessions Monongahela National Forest

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service is soliciting applications for a concession campground special use permit to operate and maintain Government-owned recreation facilities located on the Marlinton-White Sulphur Ranger District, Monongahela National Forest. The permit will include the following developed sites: Lake Sherwood Campground and Recreation Area, Blue Bend Campground and Large Picnic Shelter Area, Blue Meadow Group Campground, Hopkins Mountain Fireman’s Patrol Cabin, and Pocahontas Campground. The selected applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality public service, operating and maintaining the recreation facilities, and paying a fee to the Government. • The concessionaire will be responsible for daily operations and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems, including testing and treatment. • The concessionaire will be responsible for providing garbage removal services and maintaining bear-resistant trash bins. • The concessionaire will be responsible for providing interpretive programs at Lake Sherwood. • The concessionaire will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities, including mowing and trimming lawns. • The concessionaire will be responsible for providing customer service and responding to visitor inquiries.
