Fiber Optic Pathway Excavation and Installation Services

The Carthage Water & Electric Plant (CWEP) is seeking industry feedback on a preliminary project concept for fiber optic pathway installation and related underground work. The project may include the installation of approximately 7,750 linear feet of pathway and 47 underground structures, with the primary construction method being directional boring. Contractors are invited to provide feedback on the project concept, including any scope items that should be clarified, concerns with using directional boring, and recommended qualifications and equipment requirements. • The project is expected to occur mostly within existing easements and may involve existing utilities, obstacles, and other field conditions. • The contractor would be responsible for providing rock, fill material, and materials needed for final cleanup and restoration. • The project may include crossings of major highways and interstate facilities, and the contractor should consider permitting responsibilities. • CWEP is not requesting formal proposals or binding pricing at this time, but rather seeking feedback to help develop a future solicitation.
