The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking market research responses for an upgrade of the Micro‑Gin Motor Control Center at its Cotton Ginning Research Unit in Stoneville, MS. The scope includes design, supply, installation, testing, and training for a new MCC, PLC, HMI, VFDs, wiring, conduit, and associated power distribution, with an emphasis on minimizing laboratory downtime. The contractor must provide equipment that meets specific manufacturer preferences (e.g., Schneider, Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Omron for PLCs) and must be capable of delivering the PLC/HMI hardware within 120 days of contract award and completing all work by April 1 2027.
• Replace the existing hard‑wired control system with a NEMA‑1A, dead‑front MCC (≈600 A bus) and associated PLC/HMI consoles.
• Provide and install 48 motors’ starter/breaker sets and variable‑frequency drives as detailed in the SOW, with spare I/O capacity (≈20‑25 %).
• Perform demolition, electrical installation (120 V/240 V single‑phase from an existing 45 kVA transformer), conduit, cable trays, and full EtherNet/IP networking, followed by factory testing, on‑site training (2 days), and field commissioning.
• Deliver PLC/HMI hardware no later than 120 days after award and achieve final project completion by 1 April 2027.
