Services to Collect Reusable Materials from Thrift Stores, Businesses and the Public for the County of Kauai

The County of Kauai is seeking a contractor to provide services to collect reusable materials from thrift stores, businesses, and the public. The contractor will be responsible for collecting and sorting materials, as well as coordinating with thrift stores and businesses to pick up reusable materials. The contract will be for a period of three years, with the option for two one-year extensions. The contractor will be required to provide a minimum of 10 public collection events per year, and will be responsible for sorting and disposing of materials in accordance with County regulations. • The contractor must have at least 3 years of experience conducting events of similar scope. • The contractor must coordinate the delivery, pickup, and barging of 40CY shipping containers. • The contractor must establish contacts with thrift stores and businesses and accept reusable items at no charge. • The contractor must hold collection events on Fridays between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. • The contractor must provide an employee on site to assist with reuse collection from the public outside of the collection event date.
