Replacement Laser Diode Assemblies for Existing Systems

The US Air Force is proposing a sole source contract with Toptica Photonics for the replacement of laser diode assemblies for existing systems. The required components include 493 nm field replaceable units, 650 nm pre-aligned diode and collimation assemblies, diode and collimator mount pros, and replacement laser diodes. The components must meet or exceed OEM performance and not require modification of control electronics or internal hardware. • The required components are highly specialized and Toptica is the only known manufacturer capable of fulfilling the technical requirements. • The Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Toptica Photonics. • Responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
