Sixth Street Roadway Improvements Project

The City of Ontario is seeking a qualified contractor to execute a comprehensive streetscape upgrade along Sixth Street from Benson Avenue to Euclid Avenue. The work includes extensive roadway resurfacing, curb and gutter replacement, ADA‑compliant sidewalk and curb‑ramp construction, traffic‑calming features, utility adjustments, new LED street‑light installation, and full landscaping/irrigation upgrades. The contract is a lump‑sum award valued at roughly $2.5 million, with a 90‑working‑day construction schedule and substantial bonding and insurance requirements. • Roadway & traffic‑calming: grinding, ARHM overlay, curb medians, ADA ramps, PCC sidewalks, signing & striping. • Utility & grade adjustments: valve covers, manhole covers, monument wells, and related appurtenances. • Street‑light, signage, and electrical work: new LED poles, decorative fixtures, pull‑boxes, conduit, trenching. • Landscaping & irrigation: tree removal/planting, irrigation system installation, back‑flow devices, irrigation main & laterals. • Contractor must provide a 10 % bid bond, 100 % performance and payment bonds, retain 5 % of progress payments, and comply with prevailing‑wage, CARB CRC, and DIR registration requirements.
