The University of Connecticut is seeking a qualified vendor to design, furnish, install, commission, and operate a neutral‑host Distributed Antenna System (DAS) that will provide commercial LTE and 5G cellular coverage for the Gampel Pavilion arena and the Wolff‑Zackin Natatorium. The contractor will be responsible for full‑turnkey delivery, including engineering design, equipment procurement, fiber‑optic back‑haul integration, coordination with multiple carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T‑Mobile, etc.), and ongoing operation and maintenance for an initial five‑year term with the possibility of up to five one‑year extensions. The project must meet stringent RF performance targets (‑85 dBm minimum, ‑100 dBm acceptable) and coexist with existing Wi‑Fi, point‑of‑sale, and event‑production wireless systems without causing interference. All work must comply with Connecticut prevailing‑wage rules, university safety policies, and relevant federal and state regulations.
• Design and install a scalable, neutral‑host DAS covering indoor arena spaces, pool facilities, concourses, and an approximate 75‑foot exterior buffer.
• Provide full system integration with existing campus fiber, power, and mechanical infrastructure; conduct GPR scans before any floor penetrations.
• Operate and maintain the system for the contract term, delivering as‑built documentation, training, and performance reporting; coordinate carrier onboarding and ongoing service quality.
