Dark Fiber Lease

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service intends to make an award on a sole source basis to Community Antenna Service Inc. for Single Mode Dedicated Fiber Optic Cable Maintenance and Leasing Services. The contractor will maintain six duplex strands of dedicated single mode dark fiber cables at three locations in Parkersburg, WV. The period of performance is anticipated to be one 12-month base period with four 12-month option periods. Key requirements include: • All fiber shall be 9 microns in diameter and optimized for a wavelength of 1310 nm. • All fiber strands shall support dense wave division optical multiplexing. • All fiber strands shall be terminated with ST Connectors at Service Provider-provided fiber distribution boxes. • All splicing of fiber and terminating of pre-manufactured pigtail connectors shall be done to result in a connection with no more than a 0.2db loss end-to-end. Other contractors may submit a capability statement, which will be considered by the agency.
