Description

The State of Maine is seeking a qualified vendor to supply, install, and maintain a full suite of water‑treatment chemicals and associated dispensing equipment for boiler and cooling‑tower systems across multiple state facilities. The scope includes providing a drum‑less dispensing system (tanks, pumps, controllers), delivering the required volumes of scale‑inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, biocides, and glycol concentrates, performing bi‑monthly boiler chemical testing, maintaining spill‑containment, and supplying safety data sheets and annual usage reports. Delivery must be FOB destination, and the vendor retains ownership of the equipment, covering all repairs and replacements. The contract runs for one year with up to four optional one‑year extensions. • Supply of specified treatment chemicals (approximately 1,200 gal of various polymers, sulfites, caustics, amines, biocides, glycol, etc.). • Design, delivery, installation, and commissioning of drum‑less dispensing equipment (tanks, pumps, controllers) at all listed Maine facilities, with a 60‑day installation window after award. • Ongoing service: bi‑monthly boiler testing, refill of chemicals, provision of test kits, spill‑containment management, and annual reporting (purchase summaries, SDS, coupon studies).

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

No dollar amount is disclosed. Based on the quantities listed (≈ 1,200 gal of various chemicals) plus the cost of a statewide dispensing system (tanks, pumps, controllers) and required installation/maintenance services, a reasonable ballpark is $200 k to $500 k for the first year. The low end assumes only chemical supply at market rates; the high end adds full equipment procurement, installation labor, testing, and spill‑containment services.
