Description
The City of Orlando is seeking qualification statements from interested firms to provide professional designs for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) to be featured on the City's website. The goal is to provide a library of pre-designed ADU plans to ease the design process for property owners and encourage ADUs within allowable zoning districts. Respondents must submit at least one but no more than five proposed designs for ADUs meeting the requirements outlined in the solicitation. The designs must be compatible with the existing primary structure and the surrounding neighborhood, and must comply with the City's zoning regulations and the Florida Building Code. Some key points to consider include:
* Designs that are selected for inclusion in the library will be available for licensing and construction by residents for a pre-established fee.
* Respondents are encouraged to submit designs that feature innovative ways to reduce initial building costs and future maintenance costs.
* Respondents must have a Florida license as an architect or engineer and have the ability to sign and seal submitted plans.
* The City reserves the right to require reviews with the City Permitting Office.
* The City will feature on its website ADU designs from respondents that successfully complete a master file with the City Permitting Office.
Some potential benefits of this opportunity include:
* The chance to provide designs that will be featured on the City's website and made available to residents for licensing and construction.
* The opportunity to work with the City to encourage the construction of ADUs within allowable zoning districts.
* The potential to establish a relationship with the City and potentially lead to future business opportunities.
