SCRAMBLER DEVICE

The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research to determine the scope of industry capabilities and interest in providing a Scrambler Therapy Medical Device, specifically the Scrambler Therapy ST-5A, for the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. The device is a non-invasive, neuromodulation medical device designed for the symptomatic relief of chronic, intractable pain, as well as post-surgical and post-traumatic acute pain. Potential sources must demonstrate the capability to provide the required equipment and submit information such as point of contact, business name and address, and capability statement. • The Scrambler Therapy ST-5A is a non-invasive, neuromodulation medical device. • The device is designed for the symptomatic relief of chronic, intractable pain, as well as post-surgical and post-traumatic acute pain. • The system works by transmitting artificial “non-pain” information to nerve fibers through surface electrodes placed on the skin near the area of pain. • The device is FDA-cleared for its indicated uses and has been shown to help reduce reliance on opioid-based pain management while improving quality of life for patients with neuropathic and chronic pain conditions.
