S--KELSO DEPOT CLEANING

The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to provide cleaning services for the Kelso Depot in Mojave National Preserve. The depot has been closed for several years and requires a thorough cleaning to address health and safety issues. The scope of work includes cleaning all areas of the building, except for three rooms housing historic exhibits, which will be cleaned by NPS staff. The contractor will need to use sanitizing cleaners and follow specific cleaning instructions to ensure the safety of visitors and staff. The project requires the cleaning of various areas, including offices, exhibit areas, restrooms, and storage rooms. The contractor will also need to move and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and sanitize items that cannot be wet cleaned. Key aspects of the project include: • Cleaning all carpeted areas with steam cleaning and/or shampooing • Mopping hard floor surfaces with sanitizing cleaners • Cleaning movable furniture and affixed items with sanitizing cleaners • Sanitizing items that cannot be wet cleaned by placing them outside in the sun for at least two hours • Following specific cleaning instructions for historic woodwork and exhibits • Ensuring the safety of visitors and staff by using personal protective equipment and following safety protocols
