Microwave-Based Wide-Area-Network (WAN) Ethernet Services for Rural Health Care

The University of Utah is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide microwave-based Wide-Area-Network (WAN) Ethernet services for rural health care facilities. The goal of this RFP is to acquire bandwidth for identified sites while leveraging current UETN network resources. The University is examining several alternatives of providing WAN Ethernet services and may decide not to enter into any agreement after reviewing proposals. The contract term is expected to be five years, with an anticipated effective start date of 07/01/2025. Vendors must submit a written narrative, cost spreadsheet, and other required documents. The evaluation criteria include federal discount and rural health care program compliance, attachments and pricing requirements, company service level agreements, and technical configurations. • The University is seeking a 1 Gbps (licensed) microwave-based Ethernet solution for health care facility WAN connections to the UETN state backbone. • Vendors must explain how their services will be provisioned to the locations listed in Attachment A. • The contract term is expected to be five years, with an anticipated effective start date of 07/01/2025. • The University reserves the right to award to one or more vendors for single or multiple locations. • Vendors must agree to participate in the FCC Rural Health Care Program and provide a Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN).
