The New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) RFP seeks qualified contractors to perform full‑scope construction services for the replacement of approximately 2,730 linear feet of aging asbestos‑cement (AC) water main pipe along the IH‑35 corridor (the “Project”). Scope includes open‑cut trenching, removal and disposal of existing AC pipe, installation of new 4‑, 6‑ and 12‑inch water mains (ductile iron or PVC as indicated), pressure‑reducing valve (PRV) installation, grout‑fill abandonment of old pipe, traffic control, storm‑water pollution prevention, site restoration, and all associated appurtenances (valves, fire hydrants, concrete vaults, etc.). The work must comply with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and New Braunfels utility specifications, including stringent trench safety, de‑watering, back‑fill density, and environmental protection requirements. The project is designed by Quiddity Engineering, LLC and will involve coordination with multiple agencies (TxDOT, San Antonio Water System, local utilities) and handling of hazardous asbestos‑containing materials.
