The City of Salina is procuring contractors to replace aging water mains throughout the municipal system. The scope includes removal and replacement of valve boxes, provision of commercial‑grade topsoil, shoring per OSHA standards, and the option to install new ductile‑iron water mains either via open‑cut excavation or directional boring. Service line work requires Type K copper for short runs, and meter‑setter installations are covered under existing bid items.
