Description
The City of Santa Fe is seeking proposals for affordable housing projects that align with the community's established affordable housing goals and priorities. The projects should focus on supporting eligible costs associated with both rental and ownership projects, including new construction, acquisition, renovation, and preservation. The City is particularly interested in developments that create sustainable homeownership opportunities, promote neighborhood integration, and ensure the long-term availability of single-family housing and/or multi-family housing development for income-qualified residents. Proposals should include innovative development solutions that increase health and safety, and approaches designed to minimize reliance on direct public subsidy, while ensuring long-term affordability.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• Delivering high-quality affordable housing to low- and moderate-income households
• Providing a mix of affordability levels that serve workforce and entry-level homebuyers
• Incorporating long-term affordability mechanisms such as deed restrictions, ground lease structures, and shared equity approaches
• Maximizing the number of affordable units delivered per site
• Supporting pathways to homeownership for income-qualified households
• Utilizing cost-effective design and construction methods to improve attainability
• Including infrastructure and site improvements within the development scope
• Aligning affordability periods with long-term community housing goals
The City will evaluate proposals based on factors such as team qualifications, project capability, clarity, logic, and execution strategy, affordability duration, leverage, investment impact, readiness, and feasibility, resident well-being, and sustainability.
