The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is seeking to pre‑qualify playground equipment manufacturers and their regional installers for the 2027‑2029 Playground Improvements Program. Qualified firms will be expected to supply, design, and install playground equipment, assist with design integration, and comply with stringent safety, accessibility, and sustainability standards. The RFSQ process includes an optional pre‑proposal meeting, a question‑cut‑off, and a final SOQ submission, after which the city will publish a pre‑qualified vendor list for use in annual RFPs.
• Supply, design, fabricate, and install playground equipment for municipal parks (project budgets $200‑$500 k per playground).
• Provide two conceptual design packages (≈$225 k and $350 k) with narrative, graphics, and product cutsheets.
• Demonstrate compliance with ASTM, CSPC, IPEMA, ADA/F1951, and City design guidelines; include warranty (≥5 years) and environmentally preferable practices.
• Must have regional representatives/ certified installers located in or near Columbus to earn location points.
• Evaluation based on a 200‑point rubric covering location, understanding of scope, creativity, past performance, warranty, sustainability, references, and product information.
