Description
The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to upgrade the security and intrusion systems at Joshua Tree. The project involves installing new IDS panels that are compatible with the existing fire alarm systems and can be monitored by the same company. The contractor will also need to reuse existing wiring and intrusion devices if they are still functional. The project requires a one-year warranty, and the contractor must ensure that the new equipment can work with cellular service. The project duration is from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
Some key points to consider include:
• The administration building has a drop ceiling, while the Black Rock Visitor center has an open ceiling.
• There are no partitions needed, and no outdoor hardware is required.
• The contractor must provide 150 user codes and ensure that the systems can be monitored by a monitoring company.
• The area is not open to the public, and there will not be another site visit available.
• The contractor must use cellular service, with Verizon being the most prevalent cell service in the area, but the park does not have a preference.
