The Massachusetts State Police is seeking to establish a list of qualified contractors who can provide legal support services, including court reporters/stenographic and transcription services, and expert witness services in any area within the policies, practices, and operations of law enforcement. The contract will be for an initial term of 24 months, with three 24-month renewal options. The estimated value of the contract is not available. The contractor will be required to provide services at various locations throughout the Commonwealth, and may be required to attend meetings and provide documentation as needed. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing court reporting and transcription services, including depositions, arbitration hearings, and judicial hearings • Providing expert witness services in areas such as forensic analysis, evidence chain of custody, and use of force • Maintaining adequate staffing of qualified resources to fulfill the needs of the Department • Arriving at scheduled locations for performance at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time • Cooperating with the Department in the event of termination to ensure continuity of services • Indemnifying and holding harmless the Commonwealth, including the Department, its agents, officers, and employees, against any claims, liabilities, and costs arising out of or in connection with the contractor's performance of the contract
