GP&L Oates Rd. Substation Steel

The City of Garland’s Power & Light department is soliciting sealed bids for the design, fabrication, testing, packaging, shipping and delivery of tubular steel structures for the Oates Road Substation. The scope includes complete substation steel frames, anchor bolts, grounding hardware, and associated accessories, all to be hot‑dip galvanized and conforming to a long list of AISC, ASCE, ASTM, ANSI and other industry standards. Bidders must be manufacturers with at least five years’ experience fabricating similar substation structures, possess in‑house galvanizing capability, and be located within 1,200 mi of Garland, TX. The contract requires a five‑year warranty, a required delivery date of 09/06/2027, and a five‑percent excess of fastening hardware. A pre‑bid virtual meeting is scheduled for 10/14/2026.
