Trash Removal & Recycling Services

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking sources for trash removal and recycling services at its Gaithersburg campus. The contractor will be responsible for collecting, removing, and properly disposing of trash and recyclable materials. The contract will have a 1-year base period and four 1-year option periods, with a possible extension period not to exceed 6 months. The contractor must provide all personnel, labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, licenses, insurance, administrative support, and technical expertise necessary for the proper oversight and execution of the trash and recycling removal services. Some key requirements include maintaining an active solid waste hauler and collector license, disposing of waste and recyclables in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and providing temporary containers or compactors upon the Government's request. • The contractor must have experience performing similar services. • The contractor must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. • The contractor must have a minimum of five years of experience managing trash and recycling removal services of similar size and scope to this requirement. • The contractor must provide a contract manager who shall be responsible for the performance of the work. • The contractor must provide all safety-related equipment required to perform the work under this award, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and other equipment that is required or appropriate to protect contractor personnel and other personnel on the NIST campus.
