Purchase of Vault Type, 15kV Solid Dielectric Switchgear Assemblies

The University of Minnesota is seeking bids for the purchase of two vault-type, 15kV solid dielectric switchgear assemblies for the Energy Management Department. The assemblies must meet specific requirements, including compliance with ANSI and IEEE standards, and must be suitable for installation in a concrete, below-grade vault. The assemblies will be used to provide power distribution and fault interruption capabilities. The project includes the delivery and installation of the switchgear assemblies, as well as the provision of shop drawings, test reports, and operations and maintenance manuals. • The assemblies must be designed to carry a continuous current of 600 amps and must have a maximum ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and a minimum ambient temperature of -30 degrees Celsius. • The assemblies must be equipped with means for vertical lifting and must be capable of floor mounting. • The switchgear shall be designed for mounting on a steel floor stand, furnished by the manufacturer, which will raise the assembly above the floor. • The assemblies must be shipped on a fully enclosed truck and must fit through a standard size loading dock door. • The manufacturer shall provide a standard 24-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for all products specified in this section.
