Description

The Missouri National Guard is seeking to purchase a Heated Chemical Paint Removal System for their Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD). The desired system must have a range of features, including a post-strip stage chemical rinse, a PLC to monitor and operate the system, a powered tank cover, and a ventilation system with a 300 CFM/ft² exhaust rate. The vendor must provide site set-up support and training for up to 15 employees, as well as the initial chemical required. The system must meet the objective of the acquisition, which is to safely and efficiently remove paint from aircraft components. • The system must be mounted on a base with leveling legs. • The tanks must be fabricated from stainless steel. • The working dimensions must be a minimum of 22” L X 21” W x 16” D. • The overall system size must not exceed 30” L x 38” W x 70” D with a load height of no more than 38”. • The system must have a PLC to help monitor and operate the system safely with accurate temperature readings and radar wave guided level control. • The system must have a ventilation system with 300 CFM/ft² exhaust rate to clear fumes. • The system must come with baskets and/or racks for holding components, sized appropriately to fit the system size. • The tank should be able to heat to a minimum of 140 degrees and keep the temperature with minimal fluctuation. • The system must have an elevator with a minimum capacity of 150lbs. • The system must have an agitation function to provide hydraulic flushing allowing fluid to reach into hard-to-reach areas. • The system must have included safeties: safety cover with pump interlock, emergency stops, and alert beacons.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000, based on the complexity and features of the Heated Chemical Paint Removal System. The system requires a range of features, including a post-strip stage chemical rinse, a PLC, and a ventilation system, which suggests a high level of technical sophistication and cost. Additionally, the system must be mounted on a base with leveling legs, and the tanks must be fabricated from stainless steel, which adds to the cost. The vendor must also provide site set-up support and training for up to 15 employees, as well as the initial chemical required, which further increases the cost. However, without more information on the specific requirements and the vendor's pricing, it is difficult to provide a more precise estimate.
