The Iowa Communications Network (ICN) is seeking bids for the relocation of existing 4 fiber cable along N Bluff from N 6th St to Springdale Dr in Clinton, IA. The project involves the placement of approximately 970-ft of minimum 1.25-in HDPE conduit and the installation of a new 48-strand OSP armored fiber optic cable. The contractor will also be responsible for removing an existing ICN handhole and placing two new handholes with lids set at grade. • The project requires the contractor to assess the terrain prior to submitting bids and to anticipate encountering rock during construction. • The contractor must provide a breakdown of lump sum bids into labor and materials. • The project is expected to be completed by November 3rd, 2025, with a possible extension due to weather or unforeseen construction problems. • The ICN will provide some materials, including the FOSC closure and sealing kit, while the contractor will be responsible for providing other materials, such as HDPE conduit and grounding wires.
