Transit Health Insurance

The City of St. Joseph, Missouri is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to furnish Group Health Insurance for the employees and early retirees of City of St. Joseph-Mass Transit Division. The insurance plan should duplicate as closely as possible the current PPO plan design provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. The plan should cover 48 employees and 9 early retirees, with various tiers and classes of coverage. The proposer should provide a minimum of a one-year guaranteed rate, a detailed benefit summary, and a standard "Summary of Benefits and Coverage" for each proposed plan. • The proposal should include a description of the pharmacy benefit program, managed care programs, and network provider directory. • The proposer should also provide account management services, COBRA management services, and an organization chart and financial summary of the organization. • The City prefers policies with a "Best's" Rating of A- or above. • The proposal should include a sample contract to be executed by City of St. Joseph.
