161 / 13.8 kV Transformer & Switchgear Relocation Services

The City of Columbia, Utilities Department, is seeking a contractor to relocate two 161/13.8 kV transformers and two switchgears from the City of Columbia Municipal Power Plant to the Bolstad Substation. The relocation services shall include pre-relocation testing, disassembly as required for transportation, rigging and lifting, heavy hauling, re-assembly, vacuum filling of the transformers (only if oil is required to be removed for transport), and post-relocation testing of the transformers. The contractor shall review and comply with the scope of services and technical specifications. Some key points to consider: • The City anticipates the relocation to occur between September 1, 2026, and October 31, 2026. • The contractor shall provide a firm, fixed price for all line items indicated in the pricing page. • The contractor shall comply with the prevailing wage rates as set forth in the Missouri Division of Labor Standards Annual Wage Order No. 32. • The contractor shall provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, each for 100% of the contract price. • The contractor shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.
