Ref. 1177 - APD Parts Obsolescence

This Sources Sought notice seeks industry input on a Navy requirement to design and prototype replacements for several obsolete components of the IM‑272A/WDQ Air Particle Detector (APD). The government plans to procure two prototypes of each part—Power Supply Motor Controller, PC/104 AC/DC Converter, Display Assembly, Paperfeed Assembly, Flowmeter Assembly, and Door Hinge—and will require performance testing to verify compatibility with the existing APD system. The solicitation is purely informational; no contract award will be made as a result of this notice. • Identify capability to design and fabricate electronic and mechanical prototypes for military‑grade air‑particle detection equipment. • Provide cost, schedule, and technical approach for two prototype units of each listed part. • Complete performance testing to demonstrate functional equivalence with legacy components. • Respond via the attached Market Research Questionnaire and Draft Performance Work Statement. • Opportunity to position the firm for future procurement contracts once the Navy finalizes the design specifications.
