Institutional Investment Advisory Services

The University of North Carolina is seeking an institutional investment advisory firm to assist with various functions, including investment fund selection and monitoring. The selected firm will provide expert guidance and recommendations to the Benefits Investment Advisory Committee, assist with updating the University's Investment Policy Statement, and perform research and analysis to produce reports with recommendations for investment fund alternatives. The firm will also provide participant financial education and investment advice capabilities, produce consolidated institutional investor reports, and advise on best practice compliance for public universities. Key responsibilities of the selected firm include: • Meeting with the Benefits Investment Advisory Committee on a quarterly basis • Acting as a 3(21) co-fiduciary for core investment menus and as a 3(38) co-fiduciary for default investments • Assisting with updating the University's Investment Policy Statement • Performing research and analysis to produce reports with recommendations for investment fund alternatives • Providing participant financial education and investment advice capabilities • Producing consolidated institutional investor reports • Advising on best practice compliance for public universities The selected firm will be required to have assets under advisement of at least $250 billion and will be evaluated based on their technical approach, qualifications and experience, and pricing.
