Actuarial Service Contract for KRGF

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Natural Resources, is seeking a qualified actuary to provide actuarial services for the Kentucky Reclamation Guaranty Fund (KRGF). The actuary will be responsible for performing a detailed analysis of the KRGF, including evaluating its structure, funding schemes, and financial soundness. The actuary will also provide written recommendations to the KRGF Commission concerning the risk, viability, impact, and maintenance of the KRGF. Some key aspects of the job include: • Performing statistical calculations of risk and evaluating the KRGF's funding schemes and financial soundness • Analyzing data provided by the Kentucky Department for Natural Resources (DNR), Kentucky Reclamation Guaranty Fund Commission (KRGF), and the Office of the Reclamation Guaranty Fund (ORGF) • Providing recommendations on the best operation of the KRGF • Evaluating the KRGF's ability to keep pace with potential future liabilities and obligations The ideal candidate will have experience in providing actuarial services, particularly in the coal mining and reclamation industry. They will also have a strong understanding of the factors that influence the coal industry, including market risks, liabilities, and operational methods.
