Fund Actuary

The Middlesex County Joint Health Insurance Fund is seeking a qualified actuarial professional (or firm) to serve as the Fund Actuary for the fiscal year April 1 2026 through March 31 2027. The Actuary will provide senior‑level actuarial analysis, monthly reserve certifications, budget cost projections, and regular reporting to the Fund Commissioners and Executive Committee, all in compliance with New Jersey statutes and regulatory requirements. The engagement is a one‑year contract with the possibility of future extensions, and pricing will be evaluated for competitiveness. • Prepare and deliver actuarial reports per Fund Bylaws, Risk Management Plan, and NJ statutes (N.J.S.A. 40A:10‑36, N.J.A.C. 11:15‑3.1). • Perform monthly certification of loss reserves, IBNR, and unearned assessments for each open Fund Year. • Compute probable net cost for each Fund Year and review budget adequacy. • Provide any additional actuarial services required by NJ law or the Fund, subject to mutual agreement. • Rates and fees will be a key selection criterion; vendors must meet all applicable federal, state, and county legal requirements.
