Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is seeking potential sources capable of providing corrosion preventative compounds that meet the attached minimum specifications. The compounds should provide continuous corrosion prevention for no less than 2 years when exposed to an ISO 12944 - C5 (very harsh) environment. The product is required to be shelf-stable, have a consistency and texture that will not accumulate dirt or debris, and be stable in environments with temperatures of 75-110ºF and over 90% humidity. Interested vendors are requested to respond to this RFI with a capabilities statement that addresses the following areas: vendor information, technical capability, and data. • The applied material provides continuous corrosion prevention for no less than 2 years when exposed to an ISO 12944 – C5 (Very harsh) environment. • The product is shelf-stable (Storage temperature range 20 – 120oF, no greater than 85%RH) for a minimum of 2 years. • Once applied, the product has a consistency and texture that will not accumulate dirt or debris. • The product can be applied and is stable in environments where ambient conditions include temperatures of 75-110ºF and over 90% humidity.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not specify the exact quantity of corrosion preventative compounds required or the price per unit. However, considering the fact that the compounds are intended for use on ground vehicles and tactical assets, the total budget could be substantial. Assuming an average cost of $100 per unit and a requirement for 1,000 units, the total budget could be around $100,000. However, this is a very rough estimate and the actual budget could be significantly higher or lower.
