Description

The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services is soliciting quotations from SC‑certified laboratories to perform radiochemistry analyses on 140 drinking‑water samples. The scope includes Gross Alpha & Beta (EPA Method 900.0 Mod) and Tritium (EPA Method 906.0 Mod) testing, with results delivered in a Level II Certificate of Analysis plus a quality‑control summary and an EDD in the standard format. The contractor must also supply sampling containers, preservatives, coolers, and maintain a full chain‑of‑custody. Turn‑around time is stipulated at 20 business days from sample receipt. • 140 water samples requiring Gross Alpha, Beta and Tritium analysis • Deliver Level II COA, QC summary, and EDD per EPA standards • Provide all sampling logistics (containers, preservatives, coolers, chain‑of‑custody) • Must be a South Carolina‑certified laboratory with capability for low‑level radiochemical detection • 20‑business‑day turnaround required

Budget estimate

$30,000 – $50,000

Based on typical costs for radiochemical water testing (approximately $200‑$350 per sample for the combined Alpha, Beta, and Tritium analyses) and the requirement to handle 140 samples, the total contract value is likely in the $30,000‑$50,000 range. Factors influencing the final amount include the lab’s certification level, economies of scale, and any additional logistics (containers, preservatives, chain‑of‑custody documentation).
