Historic Restoration Architectural Services

The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Design & Construction (D&C) group intends tocontract with one (1) architectural firm specializing in historic restoration/rehabilitation projects. Projectsto include historic restoration and rehabilitation projects and may range from a variety of historic statebuildings (NYS Capitol, Empire State Plaza, etc…), offices buildings, armories to various state-ownedinstitutional facilities-many of which are National Historic Landmarks, listed or eligible for listing on theNational Register of Historic Places. The majority of projects will involve the rehabilitation of existingfacilities. Qualified firms will possess strong design skills, extensive knowledge of architectural history, akeen understanding of historic building construction and fluency in building conservation and restorationprinciples. The firm must have experience with public sector restoration projects, experience with theNew York State Historic Preservation Act Section 14.09 consultation process and possess excellentresearch and writing skills. The firm must have resources to provide field investigations, testing, codeanalysis, and subsequent document preparation. Work orders will be assigned on an individual basis.Other tasks may also include site/civil/utility engineering, structural engineering, fire protection/fire alarmengineering, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability.
