Request for Qualifications On-Call Professional Design and Engineering Services (2026-2028)

The City of Iowa City is soliciting qualifications from consultants to provide professional engineering and design services for City projects. The selected consultants will aid in the planning, design, bid document development, and limited construction period services for projects. The City anticipates selecting multiple consultants from this process, and the selected consultants will be utilized for contracts approved through December 31, 2028. The scope of services includes planning, design, and construction-related work on public improvements projects for the City of Iowa City. The project categories include Aquatics, Bridge Inspections, Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement, Architectural, Building Envelope, Construction Services, General Engineering and Survey, Landfill, MEPT, Parks, Public Utilities (Distribution/Collections), Public Utilities (Facilities), Residential Development, and Street and Traffic Improvements. • The City is looking for consultants with expertise in one or more of these categories. • The consultants will be selected based on their qualifications, key personnel, project approach, and fees and rates. • The selected consultants will be required to enter into a written consultant agreement with the City of Iowa City for each individual project. • The City reserves the right to select consultant firms and award contracts that are in the best interests of the City. • The City does not guarantee the award of any contracts and reserves the right to not award a contract for any project.
