2026 Nebraska VR Summer Transition Program

Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation seeks a qualified Nebraska‑based organization to design, develop, and deliver short‑term, work‑based learning experiences for students with disabilities (ages 14‑21) during the summer of 2026. The contractor will create and implement job‑shadowing, workplace tours, paid/unpaid placements, and related employability training aligned with high‑skill, high‑demand occupations, coordinate referrals with VR Service Offices, and provide comprehensive data collection and reporting. Up to four contracts may be awarded, each capped at $49,000 for a four‑month service period (April 1 – July 31 2026). • Develop curriculum and placement opportunities that meet CTE/H3 occupation targets. • Deliver workplace‑readiness training (disclosure, accommodations, job‑search skills, financial literacy, transportation). • Manage student recruitment, coordination with local VR offices, and produce detailed evaluation reports covering outcomes and barriers.
