Request for Proposals for Insurance Broker of Record

The City of Asheville is seeking an independent, licensed insurance brokerage firm to serve as its Insurance Broker of Record, handling all aspects of the municipality’s risk‑management insurance program. The broker will manage policy procurement, renewals, claims assistance, and provide strategic advice on coverage, cost‑reduction, and self‑insurance oversight for a potential three‑year term with optional renewals. • Provide underwriting support, negotiate with carriers, and administer policy renewals for property, casualty, workers’ compensation, and other municipal coverages. • Deliver loss‑management services, claim assistance, annual reporting, and develop insurance requirements for city contracts, construction projects, and SaaS agreements. • Offer cost‑reduction strategies, alternative risk solutions, and training/webinars for city staff; must demonstrate at least five years of experience serving public‑sector clients and maintain required professional liability and general liability insurance.
