Request for Proposal for Reinsurance Intermediary Services

The University of Utah Health is seeking proposals from vendors to provide reinsurance intermediary services to its affiliates, University of Utah Health Plans (UUHP) and University of Utah Health Insurance Plans (UUHIP). The selected vendors will assist UUHP and UUHIP in the procurement and servicing of their reinsurance programs. The scope of work includes maintaining appropriate licenses, developing a complete understanding of the reinsurance programs, outlining specifications of proposed reinsurance programs, and acting as a liaison to negotiate the most competitive premium rates. The vendor will also be responsible for administering the placement of coverage, facilitating reinsurance reporting requirements, and preparing reports to track historical and developing experience. The contract will be for a period of 5 years, and the University reserves the right to allow any University business unit or department to make full use of the agreement.
