Writers for Recovery Workshops

The Vermont Department of Corrections is seeking proposals from companies that can provide Writers for Recovery workshops. The selected bidder will be expected to provide a series of writing workshops focused on stories of addiction and recovery, and will be required to produce and teach eight workshops during each calendar year within the contract term. The bidder will also be required to collect the best writing from each year's sessions and produce a book of writing from the recovery writing workshops. The book will be distributed to treatment, out-patient, and recovery centers across Vermont to be used as a tool for education and discussion around the issues of addiction and recovery. • The workshops will be held at various locations across Vermont, including Burlington Recovery Center, St. Johnsbury Recovery Center, and Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility. • The bidder will be required to include guest appearances by published writers in each workshop. • The bidder will be required to create and maintain a website for the project to provide updates and share recovery writings.
