H312--Service Fire Alarm System INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Johnson Controls, Inc., for testing of all facets of the Simplex 4100u central fire alarm system and ancillary peripheral connected devices at the VA Illiana Healthcare System. The contract will be a firm fixed price contract for a 12-month base year with four 12-month options. The contractor will provide trained technicians to test all facets of the fire alarm system, conduct inspections of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, and perform other related tasks. Key aspects of the job include: • Testing of fire alarm systems and ancillary devices • Inspections of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems • Performance of semi-annual VRLA Battery/Charger Inspections • Compliance with NFPA standards and VA regulations • Provision of documentation and test results The contractor must have the necessary expertise and certifications to perform the required tasks, and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
