Metro WWTP Operator Training

The City of Columbia seeks a qualified consulting firm to design and deliver comprehensive wastewater treatment plant operator, safety, and pretreatment training for staff at the Metro WWTP. The contract will run for an initial three‑year term (with two optional one‑year extensions) and requires the consultant to provide classroom instruction, develop training modules, update existing programs, and conduct safety inspections. The firm must demonstrate at least five years of experience delivering wastewater, compliance, and OSHA‑related training, possess qualified staff with relevant certifications, and be registered with the South Carolina Secretary of State. Submissions are due electronically by September 3, 2026. • Provide annual operator training covering disinfection, sludge thickening, anaerobic digestion, etc. • Deliver OSHA‑compliant safety training (general safety, lock‑out/tag‑out, HAZCOM, confined space). • Conduct pretreatment training for industrial pretreatment staff and develop SOPs. • Evaluate and update existing training programs; create certification examinations (Class A & C). • Submit technical response, staff hourly rates, and required certifications; meet licensing and business‑license requirements.
