Description

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing a Sources‑Sought/RFI to identify qualified vendors that can supply two new or equivalent Dinex DuraTherm® induction chargers (Model DX2011208) for the Kansas City VA Medical Center’s Nutrition and Food Services department. The existing chargers are inoperable, creating a patient‑safety and regulatory compliance risk. Vendors must demonstrate capability to provide countertop induction base charger units meeting specific electrical, mechanical, and safety specifications, and must be eligible for the SDVOSB set‑aside. Responses are due by 1500 CST on 18 September 2026. • Required equipment: 2 countertop induction chargers, 208 V 3‑phase, 20 A, 6,700 W, NEMA L15‑20P twist‑lock plug. • Performance specs: <20 s cycle time, LCD display, automatic standby, ≤14″ × 18.75″ footprint, internal surge protection, two‑year parts & labor warranty. • Compliance: Must meet local welding standards, be standalone (no IT connectivity), compatible with existing drying/storage racks. • Set‑aside: SDVOSB (Service‑Disabled Veteran‑Owned Small Business). • Submission: Email response to Lisa Fischer by 18 Sep 2026, 1500 CST; include UEI, size status, NAICS small‑business eligibility, relevant contract numbers, and capability statement.

Budget estimate

$20,000 – $40,000

The solicitation does not disclose a dollar value. Based on typical market prices for commercial‑grade induction chargers of the specified capacity (≈ 6.7 kW) and features, each unit likely costs between $10,000 and $20,000. For two units, the total contract value is therefore estimated in the $20,000–$40,000 range, plus any applicable warranty or freight charges.
